Text: Psalm 100:1 Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth!
According to what we see in the text there are 7 commandments in this book. One, worship and make a joyful noise to the Lord. Two, serve the Lord with gladness. Three cone into His presence with singing. Four know that the Lord, he is God. Five, enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Six, give thanks to him. Seven, bless his name;
l. The command to make a joyful noise to the Lord for all the earth.
A. It is to be joyful and filled with the Holy Spirit for joy is a fruit of the Spirit. John 4 those who worship Him will worship in Spirit and truth. ln the spirit there is joy, in the spirit there is freedom. ln the spirit there is the sense that God is right here with us because He is.
B. Apostle Paul instructed the churches to sing Psalms Hymns and Spiritual songs:
Ephesians 5:79-2L And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.
C. Sing with Joyfulness, after all, look what the Lord has done: Psalm 98:4-9 Psa 98:5 Sing praises to the LORD with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody!
D. Clap our hands as a joyful noise Psalm 47:l-2 CIap your hands, all peoples! Shout to God with loud songs of joy! For the LORD, the Most High, is to be feared, a great king over all the
earth,
E. A little chorus birthed out of revival in the mid 90's "Look at what the Lord has done. He healed my body, he touched my mind, He saved me just in time, Oh l'm gonna praise his name, each day is just the same, come on and praise Him. Look what the Lord has done."
F. 10 folks in the Bible who remembered to praise God: Miriam, Hannah, David , Solomon, The author of Psalm 1-11, Elizabeth, Mary, Jesus, the leper healed by Jesus, and Paul
ll. Prophetic of a day and time when Gentiles as well as Jews would be able to praise Him
A. Part of John 4 was Jesus saying to the Samaritan woman that because of Messiah she would be able to make a joyful noise, it would be opened up to those who couldn't trace their linage back to Abraham. John 4:23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.
B. Every tongue shall confess Philippians 2:10-11
