I. Singing Reflects Joy of Soul:

Even secular folks speak of the endorphins, such as serotonin and dopamine. These are happy chemicals that boost your mood and make you feel good about yourself. In the Lord, we see Eph 5:19 exhorting us to address one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, as well as sing and make melody to the Lord with our heart.

II. Singing to the Lord is Obedience to the Word:

Joyful noise, Psalms 95:1-2, "Oh come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!" A product of the Word in Us, Col 3:16, "Let the word of Christ dwell in your richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God."

III. Singing to the Lord Blesses the Heart of God:

Praising the Name of the Lord, Psalm 69:30-31, "I will praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify him with thanksgiving. This will please the LORD more than an ox or a bull with horns and hoofs." Good and fitting to sing His praises, Psalm 147:1, "Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting."

IV. The Lord Inhabits Our Praise:

Psalm 22:3, "Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel."
